Best Refurbished Cycling Computers for 2026

GPS, mapping, power meter integration — the refurbished market for cycling computers is mature and offers serious savings.

Why refurbished works for cycling computers

Garmin and Wahoo devices are built to survive rain, falls, and years of abuse. Internals don't wear out, and screens are tough. The only real consumable is the battery, which on most models can be replaced for €30–€60.

Our 2026 picks

Garmin Edge 530 — €150–€200

The reliable workhorse. Full mapping (within continents), ANT+ and Bluetooth sensor support, 20-hour battery life. Discontinued by Garmin in 2024 which dropped refurbished prices sharply.

Garmin Edge 830 — €200–€280

Same hardware as the 530 with a touchscreen. Worth the premium if you reroute mid-ride often.

Garmin Edge 1030 Plus — €280–€380

Big screen, longer battery, full Europe map preloaded. The pick for bike-packers and audax riders.

Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT v2 — €170–€230

The Wahoo alternative to the Edge 530. Simpler UI, brilliant button layout, excellent companion app. Battery non-user-replaceable so check health.

Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM v2 — €230–€320

Color screen, better mapping than the BOLT, similar battery life.

What to check before buying

  • Battery life under load — ask for the original specs (often listed in the device's About menu) and a realistic actual hours figure
  • Mounts and bands included — the out-front mount is the expensive accessory; refurbished units often ship without it
  • Charging port wear — micro-USB on older Garmins and Wahoos can wear and stop holding the cable
  • Buttons — physical buttons on the Edge series can stick over time
  • Screen condition — scratches matter more on a sunlit display than indoors; insist on a photo in daylight
  • Firmware up to date — both Garmin and Wahoo regularly add features and bug fixes

Sensors: bring your own

Almost all modern cycling computers work with any ANT+ or Bluetooth heart-rate strap, cadence sensor, speed sensor and power meter. You don't need to buy them from the same brand. Refurbished sensors are also excellent value — a Polar H10 or Garmin HRM-Pro Plus is often half new price.

What to avoid

  • Pre-2018 Edge models (Edge 25, 200, 500, 510, 800, 810) — mapping is dated, software support is gone, batteries are usually shot
  • Sigma and Bryton at this price — refurbished savings versus new are too small to justify the lower software quality
  • No-name AliExpress devices — no map updates, no warranty, no support

A word on warranty

For a device that lives outdoors and gets dropped, a 24-month warranty is a meaningful upgrade over 12 months. Pay the small premium when the seller offers it.

Bottom line

A refurbished Garmin Edge 530 at €180 with the out-front mount included is the most cycling computer most riders ever need. Don't be tempted into the latest Edge 1050 unless you specifically want solar charging and a touchscreen.
